Camping in Joshua Tree
Smile! We're Camping!
For a trip that is a bit more secluded and quiet, try going camping in Joshua Tree! It's a great way to escape from the stress and the daily grind; just go on vacation and spend some quality time with your travel buddy and nature. Joshua Tree can definitely offer all of this and more!
If you're someone who is always glued to their phone, then a trip to Joshua Tree might be just what you need! No WiFi here, but plenty of nature and beautiful landscapes to keep you captivated. This destination is littered with rugged hills and rocky slopes as far as the eye can see. The red-brown aesthetic is spiced up here and there with splashes of green from the Joshua trees and cacti. Located in Southern California, it is a nice getaway that you could go on for a weekend trip!
A visit to the National Park is highly recommended; it's a great place to reconnect with nature, spend some quiet time, and go for invigorating hikes. It's an opportunity to get active and climb the rocks and hills while you're taking a break from a fast-paced life. The view of the mountains and the desert sprawled out before you really is a treat for the eyes and the mind.
Be aware that if you're sleeping in a tent, it can get a bit chilly overnight, so just make sure you pack enough layers and you're prepared for that! During the night you might hear a few coyotes, but nothing should come too close to you! While you are out hiking during the day, you may spot some small creatures such as birds, squirrels, and lizards, but if you keep your eyes peeled you might see tree frogs, red-spotted toads, eagles, or quail. If you're a night owl, then poke your head outside and try to catch a glimpse or two of some bighorn sheep or black-tailed rabbits.
Besides a tent, come prepared with a camping cooker, so you can really experience life off the grid and cook your own meals. Just pack some fresh veggies, eggs, and pre-cooked chicken and sausage to keep your energy levels up without weighing yourself down or luggage! It's also important to stay hydrated! There are a lot of camping and hiking spots scattered throughout Joshua Tree, so maybe do some research before your trip and decide what you'd like to do there! Then you can be prepared with what to pack and how much of it!
